Here are some of the most asked questions. If you have a question that is not on the page please contact me.
Will the treatment be painful or uncomfortable?
Massage and deep tissue work should not be painful. You can create the same or better results without causing pain or bruising. Some techniques can be slightly uncomfortable but they will be fully explained before they are used. If you choose to not go ahead with the suggested treatment other techniques can be discussed and used.
What are the contradictions for massage?
Contradictions simply means that if massaged by a therapist the clients condition may worsen.
There are many different types of contradictions such as common sense, GP contradictions and precautionary conditions. These can be discussed through the contact section on the home page. If unsure please seek medical advice from a Doctor or medical professional prior to appointment.
Do you treat patients with severe health problems?
As a soft tissue therapist I am trained to work with some conditions and health problems. There can be certain restrictions and contradictions for treatment. If in doubt please fill out the contact sheet at the bottom of the screen on the home page and ask for more details. Alternatively send me an email or give me a call and we can discuss.
What will my first session be like?
The first treatment will begin with a 10-15 minute consultation. This consultation is completely free and will be required before you receive any treatments. This is to identify any pain or discomfort you have and to assess the area and plan for treatment.
Do I have to remove all of my clothes for the massage?
This is not necessarily the case depending on the area you are experiencing pain or discomfort. It may be easier if you are undressed in the area to allow more massage techniques to be used. However it is absolutely not necessary to be fully undressed. Your privacy, dignity and comfort are important.
At all times of the massage you will be covered aside from the area I am working on.
Some techniques can even be done over clothes.
What payment types do you accept?
When booking through the website the options of how to pay are all explained. I do have the ability to take card and cash payments in person if you prefer.
How much room do you need in the house?
As I am a mobile massage therapist I carry all the equipment with me. I only need enough room to put up my couch and a small amount of room to walk around the couch.
Normally a front room is more than enough space and I am able to help you move small items of furniture if needed.
What do I wear at the massage?
I recommend you wear what is comfortable and suitable depending on the area I am treating. For example if you have a foot or leg that needs treatment then shorts would be appropriate. All areas of your body will be covered at a level comfortable for you.
